Tips for Intermittent Fasting

Tips for Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting gained popularity as an ultimate way of losing weight without bidding goodbye to your favourite food. However, it was later found and advertised that this is not the only benefit intermittent fasting has to offer. Intermittent fasting can help you get healthier, in shape, and do wonders to your skin and hair as well. The key here is to eat within a set window. There are different schedules that one can follow within intermittent fasting and all of them can help one achieve the goals, slightly sooner or later.

We realize it isn’t easy to follow a diet or routine that restricts you from consuming anything for a specific period of time, which by the way is a lot especially if you are not including your sleep time in it. To help you fast better and safely, we have combined a few tips that have worked for a number of people.

Skip Dinners not Breakfast

We understand it seems easier to skip breakfast, but we highly recommend skipping dinners as that way you can at least have the most important meal of the day. The best part about having breakfast is that you can have a huge portion of your meal, given you are consuming healthy, without feeling guilty about it. It is relatively easier for your body to digest breakfast than dinner as your body gets the whole day and you utilize energy throughout. Whereas dinner stays within your body and the energy created gets stored as you are sleeping.

This also means that you are sleeping for the majority time you are fasting and this makes fasting and not craving food easier. If you have trouble sleeping, you can consume delta-8 gummies or tincture as that will help you sleep, and sleep better.

Have Water as Much as You Can

When you are fasting, don’t forget to keep sipping on the water. Our body can sometimes mistake thirst with hunger so it is always a great idea to keep a bottle of water handy and keep sipping it throughout the day. However, we suggest not consuming a lot of water in one go. If possible, avoid drinking water from a glass and just slowly sip it through the bottle directly making sure you are taking your sweet time and not chugging it.

Have Green Tea

Even if you are fasting, you are allowed to have black coffee, green tea or tea without milk and any sweetener. Have a hot cup of tea while fasting to not feel hungry and calm your nerves down. This will make it easier for you to avoid food for another X hours.

Break Your Fast Slowly

Don’t rush into eating as soon as you break your fast and avoid having a feast. It is always a better idea to break your fast slowly and keep it simple so that you don’t overload your system with difficult to break nutrients. Start with a fruit and gradually get into eating, while practicing mindfulness and maintaining a healthy diet.

Exercise Before Breaking the Fast

It is a great idea to workout while you are still fasting but make sure you are about to break the fast so that you don’t starve yourself and have an option in case you feel weak or extremely hungry. If you are following the first tip we gave you, you will be working out first thing in the morning which promises additional benefits. Exercise at least 30 to 45 minutes prior to having your first meal or breaking your fast so that your body gets time to cool down. You can simply workout, take a long hot shower followed by a cup of your favorite black coffee or green tea, whatever you like, and break your fast.

We would like to mention to keep it clear that intermittent fasting is not meant for anyone and everyone and before diving right into it, we urge you to consider your health. If you are suffering from a condition that does not allow starving or fasting for long, please do not follow this diet no matter how tempting and promising it may sound. Consult your physician prior to starting or following any sort of diet for that matter.
